Sefton & Liverpool Women in Business CIC and The Bauer Academy launches Brand:Me

An innovative multimedia training course designed to help women facing multiple barriers increase their aspirations, skill base and long term employability.

In an age where media can be used as a tool to discriminate against and degrade women and girls, this collaborative piece of work aims to empower participants by examining the media’s role in lowering women’s aspirations, providing a positive voice for participants to address this and increasing their value of self-worth and marketable skill base.

Brand:Me will teach participants how to utilise the media in a positive way to provide further opportunities for themselves and their families, by promoting inclusivity in an industry they may never have considered accessible.

Women will participate in 6 weeks of training in multimedia (television, radio, print, journalism and photography) aspiration (confidence and esteem) perception (self-presentation, skills and talents identification) to develop their self-awareness, skill base and increase their confidence and employability.

This partnership will exploit the expertise of both organisations.  SLWIB already have a proven track record of successfully working around enterprise and employability with disadvantaged women, including female ex-offenders, victims of sexual and domestic abuse, and women with mental health and substance abuse issues as part of their Dress It Forward initiative.
